ACT OUT is a collaboration and performance between Jimmy Robert, Emma Hedditch, and Emily Roysdon that took place at Studio Voltaire in South London in September 2007. The event was “open concept” and began with each of us reading a ‘script’ that we each edited/developed from months of letter writing and idea sharing between us. We read the scripts in rounds, alternating until finished, and then pushed back further into the space, bossed each other around a bit, and then began contact silk-screening each other and the audience. We provided shirts for people to take home if they wanted to get physically printed. You could choose between two texts/ screens: “We just don’t really want what the other wants” (twice) or “ACT OUT.” People also took home all the posters encircling the gallery.
